Shores Veterinary Emergency Center

Professional Design & Construction (PDC) planned and developed a veterinary facility in South Central Pennsylvania. This center offers expanded emergency and specialty services. A “Fear Free” design was essential to the project. This approach focuses on reducing owner and pet anxiety during stressful situations. PDC separated outpatient waiting areas from triage and emergency access points. We introduced natural lighting and warm colors to create a calming effect. Inpatient treatment areas were positioned for optimal visual observation. These spaces include certified Level 1 Intensive Critical Care and Intermediate Care Units. The facility also features dedicated clean and dirty surgical suites. A centrally located treatment island includes a doctor and nurse station. This layout enables staff to maintain steady observation of all patients. Finally, the second-floor mezzanine provides space for a conference room and staff support areas.
